During my journey as a wedding photographer, I once experimented with AI editing services, especially during a challenging pregnancy period. Despite the convenience AI tools offered in speeding up photo edits, I found myself constantly adjusting every image to maintain the artistic integrity and personal touch that clients expect. The turning point came when I learned about the environmental impact of AI data centers and ethical concerns surrounding the use of AI-generated presets and edits. These insights made me reconsider the reliance on technology that removes the human element from photography. For me, wedding photography is deeply personal—it’s about capturing moments with emotion and authenticity that only a trained eye and creative mind can deliver. While AI editing can offer helpful enhancements, it cannot replace the experience of a photographer who understands the significance behind each shot. Moreover, I think it’s important to be selective about when and how AI is used. I’m not against AI entirely but prefer to avoid it in tasks that we can and should do ourselves, particularly in artistic fields like wedding photography. Until AI can operate sustainably and ethically—without excessive energy use or compromising data integrity—I choose to stick with traditional editing. This approach resonates well with many couples who value craftsmanship and authenticity over automated solutions. My experience shows that sometimes, embracing traditional methods can mean delivering more meaningful and beautifully curated memories that last a lifetime.
