I am not a photo educator that has a “cult following”.

I’m not one that has sponsorships from photo companies (anymore).

I don’t necessarily have the type of personality that makes me instantly liked online.

I’m not someone that can sell themselves without feeling bad.

But I know how to teach.

And I know how to teach in a way that is easy to understand.

I know how to build a community of friends from strangers.

I know that it’s important to make sure everyone feels included and cared for.

I know that eating together every single day brings us closer together.

I know that allowing each person the time to create for themselves can light the spark that they need to continue.

I know that letting people learn in a relaxed environment with zero pressure can take away a lot of the awkwardness.

I know that my retreats are some of my favorite times of my life. And I want to share that with every struggling photographer out there.

This is my community that I’ve built from the ground up. It’s part of my home. My safe place. One of the places I feel most alive and creative. It’s hard for me to put into words everything that the retreat means to me. What it’s done for my heartache and how it’s helped me so much over the years. Every year I look forward to it. Every year I walk away with new friends and a new appreciation of the work that I do.

I would love to see you at the next one.

Read moreAttending a photography retreat like the one on the Oregon Coast offers more than just technical learning; it's truly about connecting with like-minded individuals who share your passion. From personal experience, being surrounded by supportive peers in a comfortable setting creates a unique opportunity for growth both as a photographer and as a person. The daily shared meals foster camaraderie and open conversations, breaking down barriers that often exist online or in larger workshops. One of the most valuable aspects I've found during retreats is the freedom to experiment creatively without judgement or pressure. This relaxed atmosphere enables you to explore new techniques and ideas you might hesitate to try on your own. The focused time away from everyday distractions also helps reignite the excitement and motivation that can sometimes wane when working solo. Moreover, retreats that emphasize inclusion ensure everyone feels valued and cared for, which enhances learning and sharing. Whether you’re a beginner or more experienced, engaging in such a nurturing community helps build friendships that last well past the event itself. If you're considering joining this Oregon Coast photography retreat, prepare to immerse yourself in an environment where teaching is clear and approachable, and every participant's individual journey is respected. It's an opportunity not just to develop your photography skills but to be part of a creative, encouraging family where you can feel truly alive and inspired.
