If you’ve never made your own mayo before, this is your sign. It comes together so fast and tastes so much better than store-bought.

Ingredients:

• 1 egg (room temp)

• 1 cup light olive oil or avocado oil

• 1 tbsp lemon juice or white vinegar

• 1 tsp Dijon mustard

• ½ tsp salt

Instructions:

Add everything to a tall jar (oil goes in last).

Place an immersion blender at the bottom and blend without moving for about 10–15 seconds.

Slowly lift the blender until fully combined and creamy. That’s it—done in under 2 minutes 🤍

... Read moreMaking homemade mayonnaise at home not only gives you control over the ingredients but also ensures a fresher and healthier alternative to store-bought options. One important tip I’ve discovered is always to use room temperature eggs to help the emulsion form quickly and smoothly. Using high-quality oils like light olive or avocado oil not only adds a subtle flavor but also provides heart-healthy benefits, unlike processed oils often found in commercial mayo. In my experience, the immersion blender technique is a game changer. By placing the blender at the bottom of the jar and blending without moving it initially, you allow the ingredients to emulsify perfectly, resulting in a creamy and thick mayonnaise in just seconds. Lifting the blender slowly helps combine everything evenly. Additionally, feel free to customize the flavor to your liking by adding garlic for aioli, a pinch of smoked paprika for a smoky twist, or even a dash of honey for a touch of sweetness. Homemade mayo is incredibly versatile and can be used for sandwiches, salads, dips, and dressings. If you’re cautious about raw egg consumption, especially in warmer months or for young children, sourcing pasteurized eggs is a safe and responsible choice. Making this mayo in small batches ensures you always have fresh mayonnaise ready without any preservatives or artificial additives. Overall, this homemade mayonnaise recipe is a simple kitchen swap that transforms your meals with real food ingredients—quick, easy, and endlessly adaptable to your taste!
