reviewing Muji stationery I dislike 💔👎🏻

I love love love Muji but some of their stationery are just not it imo:

1. Polycarbonate ballpoint pen - I know many people love this pen but the ink isn’t that vibrant, even compared to bic’s ball point… it’s aesthetic but it’s not something I’d stock up on. I bought it thinking it can replace my Jetstream but I guess not

2. hexagonal colored pen - i don’t know what to say other than it’s just not great??

3. erasers - for the hype they get they don’t erase as well compared to other erasers and the eraser dusts (oh my goodness) are the smallest and the hardest to clean, they don’t clump together like I was hoping >;(

that’s all my take on the muji stationery I dislike

... Read moreAfter sharing my honest thoughts on some Muji stationery items that didn't quite hit the mark for me, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into why Muji stationery remains such a beloved brand, especially for those venturing into the world of Japanese stationery! It's true that not every product will suit everyone, and my previous review highlighted some specific pens and erasers that, for my personal needs, fell short. But let's be real, Muji's minimalist design and commitment to quality often shine through. When people ask, "Is Muji stationery good?", my answer is usually a resounding "yes, but choose wisely!" Their extensive stationery collection includes so many gems. For instance, while the polycarbonate ballpoint pen wasn't my favorite, many swear by Muji's gel ink pens – the smooth flow and vibrant colors are often unparalleled. I’ve personally found their colored pens with gel ink to be a dream for journaling and note-taking, a stark contrast to my experience with the hexagonal colored pen I mentioned earlier. If you're building a Muji stationery set, don't overlook their notebooks and binders. The paper quality is consistently excellent, making them perfect for various pen types without bleed-through. I always stock up on their plain notebooks; they're fantastic for everything from daily thoughts to detailed study notes. And speaking of study, organizing your desk with Muji's clear storage containers (like the ones you see in their stationery display sections) can seriously boost your productivity! When it comes to erasers, it's all about personal preference. While I found the black and white erasers left tiny dusts, some people appreciate their precision for detailed work. If you're looking for an eraser that clumps well, there are other Japanese stationery brands that excel in that. My top tip for choosing Muji pens or any stationery is to test them out in-store if possible. Feel the grip, check the ink flow, and see if it aligns with your writing style. Don't be afraid to read other Muji stationery reviews too! Exploring a Muji stationery section, whether in Japan or a store near you, is an experience in itself. The clean, organized displays are inspiring. You might find unique items like their mini staplers or sticky notes that become unexpected favorites. Remember, the beauty of a brand like Muji is its sheer variety. While I've shared my 'dislikes,' I'm still a huge fan of many other Muji products and encourage everyone to explore their collection to find their own must-haves. Happy stationery hunting!
