how I take notes with Goodnotes 5
I really appreciate the audio recording function ever since it’s added to Goodnotes. I use it while take hand-written notes during lectures, since it also tracks the time with each stroke! my current favorite papers to use is the dotted and staff paper (as a music student)
I try to keep everything simple, using minimal colors, no fancy fonts, and use less highlighting if I can.

Goodnotes 5 has revolutionized the way students take notes, especially with its audio recording feature that allows users to capture real-time writing during lectures. This is particularly beneficial for subjects that require extensive writing or type-specific practices like music. By combining handwriting with audio, students can revisit complex topics by syncing their notes with recorded discussions, making it easier to review challenging concepts later. Additionally, minimalistic note-taking can improve clarity and focus. Using only a few pen colors and avoiding excessive embellishments can help keep notes organized and make studying more efficient. Students can benefit from structured layouts, such as using staff paper for music notes, which provides a clear framework for notation. Adopting a weekly notebook system can be advantageous; it allows students to compartmentalize their courses and separate different topics. Creating space for additional notes enables flexibility, ensuring that nothing important is overlooked. With these strategies, students harness the power of Goodnotes 5 to build a personalized and effective note-taking system that caters to their academic needs.
