How I take notes as a music student
(I advocate for hand-written notes BUT when your classes are lecture-heavy, do yourself a favor and type instead LOL)

keywords I always keep in mind when taking notes: clear and structured~
I’ll make sure my notes are legible, concise, and most importantly INCLUDE THE DATES!! It doesn’t matter if you’re dedicating a notebook for one subject or not, writing down the date really helps to recall what information was discussed that day!
Aside from the date, I write the title according to what my prof displayed on their lecture slides, then write everything in bullet points!
Another tip is to take advantage of diagrams! I know when profs keeps delivering information without stopping, it’s hard to pause so leave some space drawing dividers then go back to draw them after class.
I go back to highlighting when necessary, I don’t highlight as I go, and try to avoid using too many colors per page to make things less distracting to read.
