How I registered my courses for the fall semester
+ how I make my decisions on which section to take!
I’ll be going back to school this fall and registration starts pretty early for us graduates! Although most courses had only one section, there were a few other courses that were hard to make a decision on because of so many time.
First thing I’d do is to hand draw a diagram, it’s just faster than making a fake calendar digitally imo. I’d jot down the time, from 8 to 4 at a side, then draw down the fixed-time courses first.
Then I’d browse through the courses with many sections and start with the ones with least time choices, or courses with only one section.(Btw I highly suggest avoiding 8AM classes unless it’s mandatory!) I would choose the time that is nearest to the fixed-time courses, either before or after.
After coming up with a somehow reasonable schedule, I go back and double check if I got all the courses and time info correctly! I also highlight or use a different pen color to differentiate between fixed-time courses and sections I chose myself. And that was my course-planning process!
