NYC Restaurants I’d Skip (Just My Take) 🍽️

Just sharing a personal take here, but these are a few NYC spots I’d probably skip next time 🍽️

NOMO Kitchen feels like it’s more about the vibes and ambiance than the actual food. It’s fun to be in, but not somewhere I’d go specifically to eat. OLIO E PIÙ is super popular, but for pasta there are honestly so many other places I’d choose over it. Little Ruby's SoHo is almost always crowded, and while it’s not bad, the food has always felt pretty mediocre to me for the wait.

Everyone’s tastes are different, but if I’m choosing where to go, these wouldn’t be my first picks.

New York
1/10 Edited to

... Read moreBased on my personal experiences dining out in NYC, I’ve found that some well-known restaurants don’t quite meet expectations when it comes to food quality, despite their lively atmospheres or popularity. For example, NOMO Kitchen offers a vibrant, fun environment which is great for a casual outing or a night with friends. However, if you’re going purely for the food, you might find it lacking in terms of taste and originality compared to other eateries in the city. OLIO E PIÙ is frequently praised for its Italian dishes, especially pasta, drawing large crowds. Even so, I believe that NYC’s vast food scene contains countless hidden gems with superior pasta offerings. If you're a pasta enthusiast looking for authentic flavors, exploring beyond popular names like OLIO E PIÙ can lead to delightful discoveries. Little Ruby's SoHo is always bustling, which can mean a long wait. From my visits, the food seemed just average, not quite justifying the time spent waiting. In NYC, time is precious, and for those seeking excellent meals without the crowds or compromise in taste, it may be worth considering less crowded alternatives. Everyone's palate differs, and these opinions are simply my honest take based on multiple visits. If you love the vibe and scene, these spots have their charm, but if food quality is your main factor, you might want to explore other restaurants. NYC boasts countless culinary delights with unique menus and better value for your dining money. When checking out restaurants in such a dynamic city, I suggest looking for recent reviews and asking locals for recommendations to find places that truly satisfy your tastes and occasion. Skipping a few hyped locations in favor of under-the-radar eateries can often lead to more memorable and flavorful dining experiences.
