Eeeeeee I have been slowly putting my apartment together the past year and a half 🤭 I got a new rug for my living room recently and I adore it , it reminds me of Bella comforter in twilight 😸😸 also got this lane ceder chest this year!!! It cost me less than $20 and it came with the vintage wedding dress also pictured
When i brought the chest home and found the wedding dress inside at first I was really sad…. At one point in time it was probably someone’s most prized possession and now it was just forgotten about in a box and sold to me at an auction for $17
I couldn’t let the dress be forgotten so I took the prom dress off my mannequin and put the wedding dress on her!
Whoever owned this dress before me was a skinny mini because it doesn’t fit on my mannequin,,, then again i think my mannequin is a size 10 or something…. Who knows
I love my wedding dress and it’s a great conversation starter, what have you done with your wedding dress after you got married? Or your prom dress after high school? Might i suggest putting it on a mannequin in your living room

Incorporating vintage wedding dresses or other sentimental garments into home decor can create meaningful conversation pieces. Displaying such dresses on mannequins breathes new life into the items, transforming them from forgotten mementos into expressions of style and history. Many people struggle with what to do with their wedding or prom dresses, and repurposing them as decor is a beautiful way to honor those memories.
Besides textiles, mixing in vintage books and lush plants enhances the atmosphere. Plants bring vibrancy and freshness, while the aged texts evoke nostalgia and intellect. The combination invites guests into a space that feels both lived-in and lovingly curated.
For those starting or refining vintage-inspired interiors, I recommend sourcing affordable furniture at auctions or thrift shops—you might be surprised what treasures await. When you find intriguing pieces with stories, like my chest and dress find, don’t hesitate to showcase them prominently.
Ultimately, vintage decor is not just about aesthetics but about weaving a unique narrative into your living space. It reflects your personality, passions, and respect for the past—making your home warm, inviting, and truly one of a kind.
