Why do cats do this?!?

I swear, cats are always where they’re not supposed to be!!

I made a box, cats like boxes right?

NO!

Lay on top of the box instead…

In the cupboard?

Seems alright to me!

It's essential to understand that these behaviors stem from their instinctive nature. Cats are playful hunters, and their multi-sensory exploration drives them to investigate spaces that might seem off-limits. This behavior is crucial for their mental stimulation and physical well-being. Providing a safe outlet for your cat's exploratory traits can alleviate frustrations. Create designated play areas filled with interesting toys, tunnels, and boxes that your cat can safely explore. This can satisfy their innate curiosity and reduce the urge to invade spaces you prefer to keep off-limits. Giving your cat access to vertical spaces, like cat trees or shelves, can also provide them with a sense of territory while keeping them entertained. Understanding these instinctual drives not only helps explain their puzzling behaviors but also allows for a more harmonious home environment.

Cats want to see outside & also they like to find cave type places to be in. Also v curious. Kind of the best parts of having a cat, always surprising you by being cute in new places 💝

apparently my cat like boxes in its original form. I had a big box from an order that he would continuously struggle to jump into. so I did exactly what you did, cut a little hole on the side for him to walk in....he hasn't even looked at the box since 🫠🙃🙃🙃🙃 so to the dumpster it's going lolol
