Dynamic duo

Hey everyone! I just had to share how much I absolutely love drawing Gon and Killua from Hunter x Hunter. There’s something so special about their friendship and adventures that always inspires me to pick up my silver mechanical pencil and start sketching in my spiral-bound sketchbook. Every time I look at a classic manga panel of these two, I feel that urge to recreate their incredible energy and bond. This black and white illustration I just finished really captures some of that raw emotion, I think! When I'm in the zone, drawing these characters, I often think about their journey – from the Hunter Exam to the Chimera Ant arc, their dynamic is truly something else. Capturing their expressions, especially Killua's fierce determination or Gon's unwavering optimism, is always a fun challenge. I find myself going back to my favorite manga panels just to study the details, how Togashi Sensei conveys so much emotion with simple lines. Using my trusty mechanical pencil and a white eraser in my sketchbook, I try to get those sharp lines and dynamic poses just right. It's not always easy, especially when trying to nail their distinct looks and the way they interact, but the satisfaction of seeing Gon and Killua come to life on the page, even in a simple black and white drawing, is so rewarding.
