More SciMare

2025/1/11 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! So, I just shared my latest fanart featuring a sweet moment between Sci!Sans and Nightmare Sans – the ever-popular SciMare! It was a blast bringing that Tumblr request to life, and honestly, seeing these 'goobers' share a kiss is just pure joy for me. But it got me thinking a lot about all the amazing ships in the Undertale AU community, especially those involving our favorite edgy guardian of negativity, Nightmare Sans. The creativity in this fandom is truly something else! It's truly fascinating how many different sides of Nightmare Sans we get to see through fan interpretations and pairings. While SciMare has a special place in my heart – I mean, the contrast between the intellectual, often more composed Sci!Sans and the darker, more volatile Nightmare Sans is just you're so interesting! to explore, isn't it? It feels like a pairing that could really challenge and grow both characters in unique ways, offering moments of unexpected tenderness amidst the chaos of the AUs. But I know another huge ship that absolutely dominates the AU fandom, and for good reason, is Killer Sans x Nightmare Sans, often affectionately called KillaMare or NightmareKiller. I've seen so much incredible art and fanfiction for Killer x Nightmare, and I totally get the appeal! Their dynamic is just... *chef's kiss*. Killer Sans, with his unsettling, permanent grin and unwavering loyalty to Nightmare, often brings out a different kind of intensity. They're both characters who've experienced immense darkness and corrupted timelines, making their interactions, whether romantic or platonic, incredibly compelling. What draws you to the Killer x Nightmare ship? Is it their shared history, their contrasting yet complementary personalities, or maybe the sheer power dynamic they exude? I find that their relationship often explores profound themes of trust, manipulation, and finding a distorted sense of belonging in a harsh world. It's not always sunshine and rainbows, but that's what makes it so captivating for many fans! When you think about it, both SciMare and Killer x Nightmare offer such unique perspectives on Nightmare Sans's character and his potential for connection. Sci!Sans often brings out a more vulnerable, perhaps even a 'human' (or monster, in this case!) side of Nightmare, providing a fascinating 'opposites attract' dynamic that hints at redemption or at least complex emotional growth. Killer, on the other hand, often mirrors or even amplifies Nightmare's energy, creating a powerful, often destructive, but undeniably captivating duo. It's truly amazing how artists and writers can craft such distinct and emotionally resonant narratives for these characters based on their core personalities. I love seeing discussions around these pairings. What makes a ship 'work' for you? Is it the angst and the drama, the fluffy romantic moments, the deep dives into lore connections, or simply the undeniable chemistry you feel between the characters? Personally, I think the beauty of the Undertale AU fandom lies in this endless creativity and how we can explore so many 'what if' scenarios. It’s a space where every fan can find a pairing that resonates with them. Don't be afraid to share your thoughts on SciMare, Killer x Nightmare, or any other pairing that has captured your imagination! It's always awesome to hear different perspectives and discover new ships to fall in love with. Let's keep the fanart and discussions going!

🧪SCI-FI + PARASITIC HORROR TROPES
🔬Sci-fi horror and parasitic horror overlap, but they don’t feel the same to me. 🔬SCI-FI HORROR is usually about the unknown — aliens, experiments, or something we don’t fully understand yet. 🔬The fear comes from not knowing what it is or how it works. 👾PARASITIC HORROR takes it further.
