Every paddle stroke works my arms, shoulders, and back, giving me an amazing upper body and cardiovascular workout. And standing up? That's a full leg and glute burner, plus it supercharges your stability, much like what you'd aim for in water aerobics but with an added challenge and a gorgeous view! One of the best things, similar to water aerobics, is how gentle paddleboarding is on your joints. Gliding across the water means significantly less impact than land-based exercises, making it perfect for anyone looking for an effective yet kind-to-your-body workout. It’s an ideal option if you're recovering from an injury or just prefer a low-impact way to build strength and endurance. But here’s where paddleboarding truly shines beyond typical water exercises: the mental game. It’s not just physical; it's a moving meditation. Focusing on the horizon, feeling the slight sway of the board under me – it sharpens my mind and melts away stress.
