Is it too much or just right?!

Am I moisturizing… or marinating?

Because why does it feel like I either use too little or far too much!!

I’m still not sure how much product is actually needed for twists. I’m learning in real time.

If you’ve been here for a while, you know, I didn’t grow up knowing how to do curly hair. I went from barely touching a comb to twisting, detangling, layering creams, gels, oils… and praying it sets right overnight.

Some days I feel like I nailed it.

Other days I’m questioning if I just deep-conditioned his scalp into next week.

But here’s the truth: I’m aiming for progress. I’m learning so my kids don’t grow up confused about their curls. I’m figuring out what works, what doesn’t, and how to build confidence along the way.

So if it looks like a lot of product? It might be.

Or it might just be a mom in training choosing hydration over dryness.

Curly fam, be honest. Full me in on your best practice for twists.

... Read moreFinding the perfect balance of product for curly hair twists can feel like an ongoing experiment. From my experience, it’s all about trial and error while tuning in to your hair’s unique needs. Moisturizing versus marinating is a dilemma many curly-haired folks face, especially when layering creams, gels, and oils. I learned that starting with a small amount and gradually adding more helps prevent overloading the scalp and strands. With twists, too much product can weigh hair down or create buildup, while too little leaves curls dry and frizz-prone. Paying attention to the texture and absorbency during application can guide how much is enough. Consistency in products also plays a role—some creams are richer and need less, while others require topping off with oils. A good tip is to use a water-based leave-in conditioner before heavier creams or oils to lock in moisture without excess residue. Over time, I noticed that my hair responds differently depending on weather and activities, so adjusting product quantity is key. Listening to your hair’s signals—whether it feels greasy, dry, or just right—helps you refine your routine. Above all, embracing the learning process with patience is important. Whether you’re a curly mom in training or just exploring natural hair care, sharing experiences within communities like #CurlyHairJourney offers valuable insights. Finding what works best for your hair promotes healthy curls and confidence in caring for yourself and your loved ones.

which, probably was not the smartest idea. i had hills and hills of ideas that i wanted done, but really no thought to them besides the fact that i “wanted” them so badly. this of course, leads to the conclusion that i do have tattoos that i regret; although not many, still some. - “euphoria” |

how I lost 14 lbs by eating right, not less!
I eat more now than I did on the left — I had a bad relationship with food and I was lazy when it came to cooking. I used to be one of those girls that would count calories, eat “fat free”, wait until 4/5pm to have a bite of food… I would be so hungry I’d binge, understandably. I would feel so

A woman in sunglasses and casual attire stands on a bridge overlooking a river, with "language learning MYTH vs. FACT" overlaid. The image sets the scene for discussing common misconceptions and truths about acquiring new languages.
This image presents the myth that one needs to be young to learn a new language, followed by the fact that adults possess advanced cognitive skills and life experience, enabling them to learn effectively.
This image debunks the myth that language learning primarily involves grammar study. It states the fact that fluency also requires vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, speaking practice, and cultural understanding for a balanced approach.
Myth or Fact?
Maybe I’m the only one but every time I open one of my social media platforms (which is usually inundated with language content) – I see new videos of people claiming things like “recent studies have shown that unless you move to Barcelona right now you just will never be able to speak Spanish, sor
