It’s all for you!
Somewhere between “Mama, I need you!” and “What’s for dinner?”… don’t forget she’s still in there.
I love being his wife.
I love being their mom.
Truthfully, those are the two greatest gifts God has ever given me.
But every once in a while, I need to put on the dress that’s been hanging in my closet, do my hair, meet up with other moms, laugh until my stomach hurts, and remember that I still exist too.
I’ve learned that taking care of myself isn’t taking away from my family.
It actually helps me show back up as a better wife, a better mom, and a happier version of myself.
So here’s your reminder (and mine)…
Wear the dress.
Take the picture.
Say yes to the girls’ night.
Twirl a little longer.
Because the woman you were before motherhood isn’t gone…
She’s just grown into someone even more beautiful.
When was the last time you got dressed up just because it made you feel good?

As a mom, it’s easy to get lost in the daily demands of parenting and household chores, often putting your own needs last. From my personal experience, I’ve found that deliberately carving out moments for self-care is essential—not selfish. Putting on that dress that’s been hanging in your closet or saying yes to a girls’ night out can feel liberating and remind you of who you are beyond motherhood. I once hesitated to take time for myself, worrying it might take away from my family. However, the opposite is true. When I embrace joy and reconnect with friends, I recharge emotionally and physically. This renewed energy helps me to be more present and patient with my children and more loving towards my spouse. The moments captured in a quick selfie or a candid snapshot at a fun event become keepsakes of the woman you are—multifaceted and complete. Parenthood adds beautiful layers to your identity, but it doesn’t erase the vibrant person you were before children. Instead, it enhances your story. Remember the encouraging phrases like "Choose joy" and "You deserve too"—they’re not just affirmations but truths worth living by. Prioritize yourself occasionally. Whether it’s dressing up, taking pictures, or just twirling a little longer in the mirror, these acts celebrate your individuality and boost your confidence. Ultimately, taking care of yourself renews the love and passion you bring to your family. It’s an investment in happiness and well-being that benefits everyone around you. Embrace your journey, support other women in theirs, and never forget that self-care is a vital part of motherhood.
