Still can’t believe it!

Some friendships don’t just survive the distance… they become family.

Who would’ve known when we met my freshman year of college that all these years later, we’d be standing in Italy watching our children make memories together?

For over a year it was, “I can’t wait to see you.”

“I miss y’all.”

“We HAVE to make this happen.”

And eventually, you realize another FaceTime isn’t going to cut it. It was time to book the flight.

Because this season of life has taught me that the people you love won’t always live down the street. Sometimes friendship looks like different countries, different schedules, raising babies, building families and doing your best to stay connected through all of it.

But when you find the kind of friends who become family? You make the effort.

So 5,000-ish miles later… here we are. 🇮🇹🥹

Living pieces of a life we once prayed for, watching our babies grow up together, laughing like no time has passed and getting to experience Italy with people we love.

To the Harris family, thank you for opening your home and your life to us. And God, thank You for the kind of friendship that grows with you through different seasons instead of growing apart.

And this is only the beginning because Three Generations, One Summer: Italy officially starts NOW. 🇮🇹✈️

Follow along because we’re taking you through Italy with us, the family adventures, the chaos, the kids, and everything in between.

When planning a trip like this, I’ve found that the key to success is flexibility and clear communication. Coordinating different schedules, especially with kids involved, requires patience but pays off with priceless moments. I remember once booking a family trip where we had to juggle various time zones and childcare needs, yet it brought us closer than ever. Watching our children bond reminds me that these friendships evolve into something deeper, almost like a chosen family, weaving through every season of life. The phrase from the image, "FROM 'ONE DAY' TO THIS," perfectly captures this feeling. It’s amazing how what starts as a hopeful plan during college can blossom into real, shared experiences half a world away. Traveling to Italy with friends who became family offers a unique backdrop—not only for exploration but for seeing the beauty of friendship in diverse settings. Experiencing Italy with kids adds its own layers of fun and challenge. From trying new foods to navigating new cities, kids teach us to slow down and savor moments, making the trip even more meaningful. Plus, sharing these adventures with close friends guarantees laughter, support, and a sense of belonging that distance can never diminish. If you’re nurturing friendships across miles and life changes, consider making the leap from virtual hangouts to real-world reunions. Booking that flight might just be the start of beautiful new chapters together.
