Where to stay? 🏨
I highly recommend the People’s Square or Jing’an Temple area.
Staying near People’s Square is ultra-convenient—it’s the major subway interchange (Lines 1, 2, & 8), putting you minutes away from everything. You’re right by Nanjing Road and walking distance to the Bund. It’s the perfect central hub to save time and maximize your 4-day trip! 🎉

When planning a trip to Shanghai, one of the biggest challenges is balancing sightseeing with relaxation, especially when you only have four days. From my own experience, staying near People’s Square not only saves travel time due to its excellent subway connectivity but also puts you close to some of the city's most iconic attractions like Nanjing Road and The Bund. This strategic location allows easy access to day trips such as the ferry ride to Lujiazui, where the futuristic skylines and Shanghai Tower await your visit. Food lovers will find themselves indulging in local delicacies at the night markets near Jing'an Temple or Tianzifang. Sampling street snacks like skewers and traditional Shanghai dumplings enhances the cultural experience. On day two, the charming streets of Wukang Mansion and Anfu Road provide perfect spots to relax with coffee and capture memorable photos. Art enthusiasts shouldn’t miss M50 Creative Park on the third day, an arts district showcasing contemporary galleries and studios. Also, the Shanghai Museum’s extensive collections offer a glimpse into China’s rich history, making it a must-visit. For a magical finale, dedicating day four to Shanghai Disneyland is a fantastic choice. Experiencing rides themed around Zootopia and Pirates of the Caribbean, followed by the dazzling fireworks show, creates unforgettable memories for all ages. To save money, consider checking deals through travel links often shared on social media profiles or travel blogs. Planning ahead and booking accommodations and tickets online can result in significant discounts. Overall, the blend of historic sites, modern architecture, art scenes, and entertainment parks makes Shanghai a dynamic city that’s easy to explore in just four days if you plan wisely and stay in the right area.
