Reflection of God in Me Devotional
So I have been working on a devotional journal for my daughter, my mom and I to do together. I have been doing research, devotional and reading the Bible, to build this devotional. I customized them a journal for them, put a letter from me to them and inspiring verses and quotes.
The notebook isn’t just a devotional but a workbook/study guide. I pray that it will be helpful, encouraging and will help not only build their relationship with God, but to help built their confidence back and it’ll be a bonding moment for us!
Moms and Daughters relationships are always so rocky, we love them from the time we know them to the time they are no longer with us. However, when we as daughters clashing with our mothers, when we hit our teens, it’s because mothers and daughters are so much alike, stubborn, irritable, nosey and sometime ignorant. Etc. Sometimes we are just too quiet to talk to each other or to even say “I Love You”, in these situations. I am so guilty of this.
But sometimes there are Moms and Daughters that are so close, that they’re like besties. I wasn’t so lucky but God defiantly blessed them. And I’m blessed too.
You could also be a mom like me that is Autistic and struggles to be a mother and friend to their daughter and want so desperately to be the Mom you wish you could be…… And so you seek God for guidance and knowledge.
So, I opened my Bible and went to Proverbs, mostly P31 and I researched the What God Sees in Me studies.
Basically the Head to Toes song but with Bible verses replacing the lyrics!
Go look in the Mirror, What do you see?
Do you see sad & depressed eyes? Go look these verses up - Matthew 6:22-23; Psalms 119:18; Proverbs 20:12; Ephesians 1:18; Psalms 17:8; Proverbs 15:3; 2 Chronicles 16:9; Luke 11:34; Psalms 101:3; Proverbs 4:25…. and there is so much more!
I researched/read verses starting from the mind, ears, eyes, mouth, heart, hands, knees & feet. You will be surprised.
Oh, and don’t forget to look up verses for your spirit/soul and your character. The most important thing to remember most of all is - Your Body is a Temple, your body is temporary, but it is the home for the Holy Spirit which will carry your soul to heaven to live for an eternity!
Any questions, feel free to ask and if anyone has anything to add, please do!

The relationship between mothers and daughters can often be complicated, filled with love, misunderstandings, and moments of closeness. Many women find strength and healing through shared experiences, especially in their spiritual journeys. Devotional journaling opens a unique pathway to deepen these relationships. By integrating personal reflections with Bible verses, individuals can cultivate a sense of purpose and connection with God and each other. Incorporating scriptural wisdom, such as verses from Proverbs 31, helps to remind both mothers and daughters of their value and divine purpose. This can foster resilience against challenges they face together. Reflective activities within the journal, focusing on aspects of themselves, including mind, heart, and spirit, promote healthy communication and emotional bonding. Additionally, research suggests that engaging in such spiritual practices can lead to improved self-esteem and confidence for both mothers and daughters. As they explore God’s perspective on their lives, they can build a supportive space for discussing feelings and experiences. This guide not only aids in spiritual growth but also strengthens familial bonds, turning journaling into a collaborative activity that leads both generations closer together. Encourage dialogue within your devotional practice, and share insights and revelations that surface during this journey. If you're seeking to enhance this enriching practice, consider adding creative elements to your journal—such as prayer requests or gratitude lists—that further connect your experiences in faith. Such collective effort can truly reflect the love of God in your lives, enriching both personal and shared spiritual journeys.
