Stepping into Surrey Hills Grocer felt like entering a hidden jungle escape. 🌿 With lush greenery, warm lighting, and animal-themed décor all around, the restaurant gave us a unique “jungle cruise meets petting zoo” vibe that made the entire dining experience feel cosy and memorable.
🍗 Our star of the night: Chicken Schnitzel
Hands down our favourite dish of the night. The schnitzel was unbelievably crispy while staying juicy on the inside, making every bite incredibly satisfying. Paired with the creamy egg tartare and refreshing fennel salad, it balanced the richness perfectly and had us reaching for another bite every single time.
🥔 Honourable Mention: Totcho Supreme
This completely exceeded our expectations. The tater tots were perfectly crispy without tasting like your usual frozen packet tots, while the generous serving of smashed avocado, sour cream, and nacho cheese created a creamy, flavour-packed combination that made every bite addictive. Definitely one we would recommend ordering to share!
🍕 Red Wine Wagyu Beef Cheek Pizza was another solid choice. The red wine-braised wagyu beef cheek was tender and flavourful, while the pizza crust had just the right balance of a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy centre.

Located on the rooftop of VivoCity. The only downside is that you’ll need to make your way through the mall before reaching the restaurant.
Overall, the food genuinely impressed us, and the ambience elevated the whole experience. While it’s on the pricier side, it’s the kind of place we’d recommend for date nights, anniversaries, birthdays, or any special occasion where you want to enjoy good food in a beautiful setting.
Would we return? Yes, but probably only for another special occasion. The food and atmosphere were amazing, but the price makes it more of an occasional treat than somewhere we would visit regularly.
