... Read moreGoing through hardships is something everyone faces, but what really defines us is how we respond to those challenges. I've found that refusing to use trauma as an excuse for negative behaviors is key to genuine personal growth. Instead of letting bitterness consume me or blaming external factors like my upbringing, I chose to acknowledge the pain, learn from it, and move forward responsibly. The journey from suffering to healing starts with accepting our scars—not as badges of victimhood but as marks of resilience. It's easy to get stuck in a loop of blaming others or our past conditions, but that only fuels more pain and prevents progress. I remember hearing people justify their actions by their troubled history, but I realized that doesn’t have to dictate who I become. Detaching from bitterness involves consciously rejecting the 'comfort in chaos' mentality. Change can be scary, but staying stagnant in toxic emotions only deepens the wound. I pushed myself to cultivate a growth mindset where setbacks became lessons rather than excuses. For instance, I stopped performing my struggles as if they were identities or shields, and instead focused on rebuilding my character and mental health with intention and discipline. One powerful lesson is that personal responsibility is not about blame; it’s about ownership of our actions and healing journey. Everyone faces hard nights and difficult environments, but turning those experiences into expertise on trauma keeps us trapped. I chose to extinguish the fires of bitterness and light new fires of hope and freedom. If you find yourself stuck in resentment or self-pity, try shifting your perspective: What can this experience teach me? How can I grow stronger without letting bitterness consume me? Taking this approach has been liberating for me and can be for anyone ready to transform pain into progress. Remember, healing is a process, and the mindset you adopt along the way makes all the difference.

how do we not talk about this national park more!?
Ok ok, I know Olympic National Park is fairly well known, but the fact that it’s not in most people’s top three national park list is an absolute CRIME! Don’t get me wrong, I love Yellowstone and The Grand Canyon, but you will never get as much biodiversity in one place as Olympic National Park.
