I have an allergic reaction every single day !

Hello,

I’m going through it yall. I have an allergic reaction almost every single day . At some point of everyday, certain parts of my body are covered in hives . I’m not allergic to anything except like seasonal allergies. This has been happening to me for years since high school . I’ve gone to the doctors and the only thing they keep saying is stress and I am in a stressful position in life right rn but hives everyday is crazy 😩 and miserable to say the least.

Has anyone ever experienced this ? Any remedies to naturally soothe an allergic reaction ? I usually take Benadryl but I hate the way it makes me feel 😭

... Read moreIt's truly draining to experience daily hives, and I completely empathize with what you're going through. When doctors consistently point to stress as the culprit, it can feel dismissive, even though there's often a real connection. I've been there, feeling dismissed and frustrated, wondering if it's 'all in my head.' But chronic hives, even stress-induced ones (often termed chronic idiopathic urticaria), are very real and impact quality of life significantly. One thing I've learned on my journey is that stress doesn't just cause hives; it can also make existing hives worse. It's a vicious cycle! Managing stress isn't just about 'relaxing' – it's about finding sustainable coping mechanisms that fit into your life. Have you explored things like mindfulness meditation, gentle yoga, or even just scheduling in small moments of calm throughout your day? Even 10-15 minutes can make a noticeable difference. For me, journaling about my feelings helps a lot, almost like letting off steam before it manifests on my skin. Sometimes, a quiet walk outdoors can do wonders for both the mind and body. Beyond stress management, I've found a few natural soothing methods that might offer some relief, especially since Benadryl isn't your favorite. Cool compresses can be a lifesaver for immediate itch relief; a clean cloth soaked in cold water or even an ice pack wrapped in a towel can dramatically reduce the urge to scratch. Colloidal oatmeal baths are also incredibly calming for irritated skin. Just make sure the water isn't too hot, as heat can sometimes exacerbate hives. Some people also find relief with topical creams containing ingredients like calamine or menthol, but always patch test first to ensure no new irritation. Applying pure aloe vera gel can also be very cooling and anti-inflammatory for red, angry bumps. It’s also worth considering your environment and daily habits. Are there any new detergents, soaps, lotions, or even certain fabrics that might be silently contributing? Sometimes, identifying and eliminating these subtle triggers can be a game-changer. Keeping a detailed 'hives diary' where you note down what you ate, what you did, your stress levels, and when the hives appeared can sometimes reveal patterns that even doctors might miss in a quick appointment. Don't underestimate the power of hydration too – drinking plenty of water helps your skin maintain its natural barrier. If you haven't already, maybe seeking a second opinion from a dermatologist or an allergist specializing in chronic urticaria could be beneficial. Sometimes, a fresh pair of eyes or a specialist with more experience in complex cases can offer different diagnostic approaches or treatment plans beyond just antihistamines. They might explore other underlying causes. Remember, finding relief is a marathon, not a sprint. Be patient with yourself, advocate for your health, and don't give up hope. You deserve to feel comfortable in your own skin, and finding the root cause or the most effective management strategy is a journey worth taking. I'm going through this. 😭 (I take ice put it in a towel and rub the spots that are active. Weirdly it works calming the itch.Take an allergy pill daily. Anytime you are outside when you come in wash your arms and legs. Wipe out your nose. Find an oatmeal colloidal silver wash.) This year has been off the charts for hives for me ! 😭
