Remembering our Fallen Heroes
Today is Memorial day its not about BBQ or the beginning of summer. It's a day of remembrance for our fallen service members from the Revolutionary War to our Current Iran Iraq war. "All Gave Some Some Gave All"
Observing Memorial Day goes beyond backyard BBQs and marking the start of summer—it is a deeply meaningful day that invites us to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who served our country. I personally find taking a moment to visit a POW/MIA table or local memorial brings a profound sense of humility and gratitude. These tables symbolize respect and remembrance for those still unaccounted for and those who gave their lives. When I attend Memorial Day ceremonies, the phrase "All Gave Some, Some Gave All" resonates powerfully, reminding me that every service member has contributed to our nation's freedom in unique ways. From the Revolutionary War veterans to the soldiers involved in more recent conflicts like the Iran-Iraq war, each story reflects courage and dedication. In my experience, sharing stories of fallen heroes with family and younger generations helps preserve their legacy and instills an appreciation for the peace and liberties we enjoy today. Memorial Day is also a time to support veteran organizations and communities affected by war, offering assistance and acknowledgment. This day is a reminder to put aside leisure activities momentarily and honor those whose ultimate sacrifice ensures our safety and way of life. Whether by attending a local memorial service, displaying the American flag, or simply pausing for a moment of silence, each act of remembrance keeps their memory alive and educates future generations on the costs of freedom.
