The Naha (extended)
Long before Nahanni Valley became associated with missing expeditions and frontier disappearances, stories already existed about the Naha.
Some traditions described them as feared mountain raiders who descended from the wilderness before vanishing back into the mountains themselves.
Over time, the stories surrounding the Naha became increasingly difficult to separate from folklore.
Some historians believe the accounts may preserve fragmented memories of real northern conflicts.
Others remain uncertain.
But the legends endured.
