Summertime Ready โ๏ธ๐๐๐๐
Wow, summer is finally here, and I couldn't be more excited to get my pontoon out on the water! Every year, I spend some time making sure everything is just right for countless hours of fun in the sun. If you're like me and love a perfect day on your pontoon, then you know having the right gear makes all the difference. I've put together my ultimate collection of pontoon must-haves that I swear by for an unforgettable season. First up, safety is always paramount. I always make sure I have enough U.S. Coast Guard-approved life vests for everyone on board, especially the kids. Itโs not just a rule; itโs peace of mind. Along with that, a well-stocked first-aid kit is non-negotiable. You never know when a small scrape or sting might happen, and being prepared means you can keep enjoying your day without a hitch. Another essential for those long sunny days is good sun protection. I always have a big bottle of reef-safe sunscreen, wide-brimmed hats, and plenty of water to stay hydrated. A pop-up sunshade or a good bimini top is also a lifesaver for escaping the midday heat. Next, let's talk comfort and fun! My pontoon is basically my floating living room, so comfy seating is a must. I've added a few extra bean bag chairs that are perfect for lounging. A quality cooler, packed with ice, drinks, and snacks, is also high on my list. There's nothing better than a cold beverage on a hot day. For entertainment, a portable waterproof Bluetooth speaker is essential for setting the mood with some good tunes. And if you have kids (or are just a kid at heart!), a few inflatable water toys like a towable tube or a floating mat can turn a good day into a great one. I recently found a a cool collection of floating devices that have made our lake days even more exciting. Now, for the practical items that make life easier. A reliable anchor and plenty of rope are crucial for securing your pontoon when you want to stop and swim or just relax. I've learned the hard way that having extra dock lines is always a good idea too. Keeping the pontoon clean is also important. I always carry a good boat brush, some multi-surface cleaner, and plenty of microfiber towels. A portable vacuum is also super handy for quick clean-ups after sandy feet or snack spills. And don't forget a fully charged marine battery and maybe even a portable jump starter โ nobody wants to be stranded! For those who might occasionally transport their pontoon, having the right tie-downs and checking your trailer's lights and tires before heading out is just as important as the must-haves on the boat itself. While my pontoon usually stays docked for the summer, I know many folks use their truck to haul theirs to different lakes, and making sure everything is secure for the road trip is key. Having this collection of essentials ensures every trip is smooth, safe, and super enjoyable. What are some of your favorite pontoon must-haves? I'm always looking for new ideas to make my summer pontoon experience even better!
