Bullies explained !
From my own experiences and observations, bullying is far more pervasive than many realize. While school bullying is often visible and addressed, adult bullying, especially in office settings, tends to be subtle yet equally damaging. It’s not just about overt aggression but also about power dynamics where people with titles or seniority exert undue pressure on others to feel superior. This behavior can manifest through constant criticism, exclusion, or diminishing someone’s contributions, which ultimately breaks down morale and productivity. I’ve noticed that these office bullies often have their own insecurities, and their need to belittle others stems from a desire to mask their personal struggles. Recognizing this pattern helped me approach the issue with empathy, but also with firmness by setting boundaries and seeking organizational support when necessary. Encouraging open conversations about mental health and workplace respect can create safer environments where bullying is less tolerated. If you find yourself in such a situation, it's important to document incidents, reach out to trusted colleagues or HR, and maintain your self-worth despite the negativity. Remember, bullying reflects the bully’s issues, not your value. Understanding that bullies exist both in schools and workplaces helps us stay vigilant and support each other in building healthier communities.
