... Read moreOMG, you guys HAVE to visit Falls Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota! I just got back from my trip, and literally, the waterfalls there are even more majestic than I expected. When you search for 'Sioux Falls waterfalls,' this is the place everyone's talking about, and for good reason! My experience started at the Visitor Information Center, which is super helpful for getting oriented. They have a viewing tower that offers panoramic views of the entire park, including the stunning falls of the Big Sioux River. It’s the perfect spot to get your bearings and snap some incredible photos. I spent a good hour just watching the water cascade over the ancient quartzite rocks – it’s truly mesmerizing and makes you appreciate the raw power of nature. Walking around the park, I discovered so many cool spots. There are paved walking trails that wind alongside the river, giving you different perspectives of the waterfalls. I even stumbled upon the old mill ruins, which add a really unique historical touch to the natural beauty. It's wild to think about the history of this place and how the falls powered early industries in Sioux Falls. Make sure to cross the pedestrian bridges for some awesome close-up views – you can practically feel the mist! For anyone looking for a perfect outdoor adventure in South Dakota, Falls Park is a must-see destination. Whether you're into photography, a leisurely stroll, or just want to relax surrounded by natural beauty, this park has it all. I’d recommend going during the spring or fall for the best weather and fewer crowds, but honestly, it’s beautiful year-round. Don't forget comfy shoes, a camera, and maybe a picnic lunch to enjoy by the river. It truly is the heart of Sioux Falls, and seeing these magnificent waterfalls up close is an experience I won't soon forget!
