Wow, February flew by, but not before I managed to squeeze in six amazing reads! There’s just something so satisfying about hitting a reading goal, isn’t there? This month was definitely a deep dive into some fantastic romance, and I’m already planning my next book adventure. You might notice I was on a bit of a Rebecca Yarros kick, and for good reason! Both 'Variation' and 'In the Likely Event' completely captivated me. Yarros has this incredible way of crafting emotionally resonant stories with high stakes and heartfelt connections, making her characters feel so real. If you love stories that pull at your heartstrings and keep you hooked, her books are a definite must-read. But it wasn’t all Rebecca Yarros! I also discovered some other incredible authors. 'Deep End' by Ali Hazelwood, for instance, gave me all the witty banter and smart, science-y heroines I adore. Her writing is just so fresh and fun, perfect for when you need a good laugh alongside your romance. And then there was Devney Perry’s 'Cross Roads' – a small-town romance gem that just pulled me right in with its charming characters and cozy setting. Have you read any of her others? I’m always looking for more of that heartwarming, community-rich vibe! Kayla Edwards' 'City of Gods and Monsters' was a thrilling ride, a bit darker and more fantastical than my usual, which was a welcome change of pace. It’s always fun to step out of your usual genre comfort zone and find a new world to get lost in. And for something sweet and utterly heartwarming, B.K. Borison’s 'First-Time Caller' was absolutely delightful. It felt like a warm hug in book form, perfect for curling up with on a chilly evening! If you're anything like me, finding your next great read can sometimes feel like a quest. My top tip? Look at what authors you're already enjoying (like my current Rebecca Yarros obsession!) and explore their backlist or similar authors recommended by fans. Book communities on platforms like Lemon8, Goodreads, or even local book clubs are fantastic for recommendations tailored to your taste. Don’t be afraid to try different subgenres within romance either – from contemporary to fantasy romance, there’s a whole world out there waiting to be discovered! What helps me keep up with reading is setting small, achievable goals each month and keeping a running list of books I want to read. And of course, having a cozy reading nook or a favorite coffee shop helps set the mood!
