valentines day snacks!

... Read moreGalentine's Day is one of my absolute favorite holidays – it’s all about celebrating the amazing friendships in your life with your best girlfriends! And what’s a celebration without some fabulous, Instagram-worthy snacks? I recently hosted a Galentine's get-together, and I wanted to share some of my favorite easy and adorable treat ideas that were a total hit. First up, you can never go wrong with a themed charcuterie board. For Galentine's, I went with a heart-shaped board, which immediately made everything feel extra special. I loaded it with a mix of sweet and savory. Think fresh strawberries and juicy green grapes for a pop of color, alongside classic crackers and a variety of cheese cubes – cheddar, brie, and a little goat cheese are always winners. To make it truly festive, I added some colorful candies in pink, red, and white, plus some rolled-up pepperoni slices to weave in that savory element. The key is to arrange everything artfully; don't be afraid to mix textures and colors! For the sweet tooths (which, let's be honest, is everyone at a Galentine's party!), I made a batch of heart-shaped chocolate brownies. They’re surprisingly easy to make – just bake a regular sheet of brownies and then use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut them out once they’ve cooled slightly. Drizzle with a little pink icing or dust with powdered sugar for an extra touch. Mini cupcakes are another fantastic option; you can buy plain ones and decorate them with pink or red frosting and a sprinkle of heart-shaped sprinkles. Little touches like this really elevate simple treats. And speaking of sprinkles, one super simple trick I used was decorating the rims of our pink plastic cups with red and white heart-shaped sprinkles. Just dip the rim in a little corn syrup or water, then into a shallow dish of sprinkles – it adds so much festive fun and makes even a simple drink feel special. Don't forget the savory bites! Besides the charcuterie, mini hot dogs in pastry (or 'pigs in a blanket' as we call them) are always a crowd-pleaser and disappear fast. And of course, a table isn't complete without chips and a creamy dip. I like to elevate mine by making a fresh spinach or onion dip, but even store-bought can be dressed up with a pretty bowl and some fresh herbs. Ultimately, Galentine's Day is about showing love to your friends, and these treats are just a delicious way to do it. They’re all fairly easy to prepare, leaving you more time to enjoy the company of your favorite people. Happy Galentine's, everyone!
