What city in the bay has the best views #bayarea

2025/1/17 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! If you're anything like me, you're always on the hunt for those breathtaking spots that make your jaw drop and your camera roll fill up instantly. The Bay Area is absolutely spoiled with incredible vistas, but the big question always is: What city in the Bay has the best views, and more importantly, where exactly are these magical locations? I've spent countless weekends exploring, and I'm so excited to share my top picks for the most beautiful view locations and all the details you need to experience them yourself! First up, it's almost impossible to talk about Bay Area views without mentioning San Francisco. This city is practically a postcard. My absolute favorite spot for a classic panoramic is Twin Peaks. Seriously, the 360-degree view from up there is unreal – you can see the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, downtown skyline, and even beyond on a clear day. It's a bit of a climb or drive, but totally worth it, especially at sunset. Another must-visit is the iconic Golden Gate Bridge Vista Point on the San Francisco side (or the Marin side if you cross over!). You get such a dramatic, close-up perspective of the bridge itself, perfect for those classic shots. For a slightly different city perspective, I adore Bernal Heights Park. It's a fantastic local secret with fewer crowds, offering stunning city skyline views, and it's a great spot to bring a picnic. Crossing the Golden Gate, you enter Sausalito, which offers some truly unparalleled perspectives back towards San Francisco. The Marin Headlands are a treasure trove of viewpoints. You've got places like Battery Spencer (often called Spencer Overlook) which gives you that iconic shot of the Golden Gate Bridge with the SF skyline in the background – it's breathtaking, especially when the fog rolls in. Drive a bit further into the Headlands for other overlooks that provide sweeping views of the Pacific and the entire bay. And don't forget to stroll along Sausalito's charming waterfront itself for lovely bay views, often with sailboats gliding by. For those of us in the East Bay, the Berkeley and Oakland Hills are a goldmine. Grizzly Peak Boulevard is legendary for a reason. Driving along this ridge line, you'll encounter numerous pull-offs offering some of the most expansive panoramic views of the entire Bay Area – literally from the North Bay all the way down to the South Bay, with both bridges in sight. It's spectacular day or night. For something more active, I love hiking in Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve. While not always direct city views, you get incredible natural beauty with glimpses of the bay and city in the distance, plus the unique volcanic geology. And for a quirky, lesser-known gem, check out Indian Rock Park in Berkeley. It's a fun climbing spot with stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city skyline. Finally, Tiburon offers another charming perspective, especially if you're looking for views of Angel Island and the San Francisco skyline. While you can see beautiful bay vistas from the town's waterfront, a truly unique experience is taking the ferry to Angel Island State Park. Once there, you can hike or bike to the summit for an incredible 360-degree panorama of the entire Bay – San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, the bridges, and all the surrounding hills. It's an adventure with a massive payoff in terms of views! So, whether you're a local or just visiting, I hope this guide helps you discover some of the most beautiful view locations across our incredible Bay Area cities. Each spot offers something unique, and you really can't go wrong. What are your favorite Bay Area viewpoints? I'd love to hear them in the comments!

I had dinner at 71Above in Los Angeles , and just for the view alone was worth it, you're literally dining above the city, with floor-to-ceiling windows. The vibe is upscale and the food was refined and flavorful, and watching the sunset from up there made the whole experience feel unreal.
