Drawing On Eyelashes!

The ones at the outer corner can be longer and slightly thicker, while those closer to the inner corner might be shorter and more delicate. This variation adds a lot of dynamism and realism to your drawing. Consider Lower Lashes: Lower lashes are usually much sparser and shorter than upper lashes. I typically draw just two or three small, short spikes or tiny groups along the lower lash line, often concentrated towards the outer corner. Less is definitely more here to avoid making the eyes look too heavy. Angle and Curve are Key: Pay attention to the direction your lashes are pointing. Upper lashes usually curve upwards and outwards, following the curve of the eyelid. Lower lashes might curve slightly downwards. This curvature adds depth and makes the eyes look less flat. Adding Detail and Depth (Optional but Recommended!): Once you have your basic lash groups, you can go back and add a few thinner, individual strands within each group to give them a more organic feel. Sometimes, I’ll even add a tiny highlight or shadow directly under the lash line to make the lashes look like they're really drawing on the skin, creating a little bit of graphic eyeliner effect, adding to that alternative style.
