You guys this is my first workout video so be nice :) I hit legs heavy 2 x a week (if I have time I do a light glute focused day in the middle but I almost never do). Almost every set is 3x5 as heavy as I can go. I do full upper body once a week at home. Lmk if you wanna see my warmup or if you like this kind of content!! I am a teacher and a mommy of one! I've been lifting since 2020!! If I can do this anyone can!! #dfyneathlete #dfyne #glutesworkout #legsday #girlswholift @DFYNE @DFYNE.HQ
Strength training for legs can be really rewarding, especially when you approach it with consistency and focus like in my routine. I find that hitting legs heavy twice a week, primarily using 3 sets of 5 reps with challenging weights, allows my muscles to grow stronger without overtraining. It’s important to give your body enough time to recover between workouts, so spacing sessions a few days apart helps. While I don’t always squeeze in a lighter glute-focused day midweek, when I do, it adds a nice variation that targets those muscles more directly. Glute activation exercises such as hip thrusts or cable kickbacks can complement heavier compound lifts like squats and deadlifts to improve both shape and strength. For warmups, I typically start with some dynamic stretches and bodyweight movements to prepare my muscles and joints. Incorporating warmup sets of lighter weights before going heavy helps prevent injury and increases performance during the working sets. Balancing fitness with being a teacher and mom means I keep workouts efficient and focused. Even with a busy schedule, dedicating time for full upper body workouts once a week at home keeps my overall strength balanced. If you’re just starting out or coming back to lifting, remember that form and consistency are key. Don’t be discouraged by heavy weights at first—gradually increasing load as you get stronger is the safest way to progress. Sharing my experience, I hope to motivate others, especially women, to lift heavy and confidently. If you want tips on warmup routines or other workout ideas, I’d be happy to share more!
