Skating Day ✨🫶

Ice skating is such a rewarding sport, blending artistry and athleticism in every move. After coaching others, I recently laced up my skates again and faced the challenge of being out of shape while trying jumps like the Waltz Jump, Salchow, Loop, and even a Flip. It reminded me how important consistent practice is, especially for complex techniques like the Little Camel Combo. Returning to the ice after some time off can feel intimidating, but it’s a great chance to reconnect with the basics and enjoy the rhythm of skating. One tip I found valuable is to focus on controlled, deliberate movements rather than rushing to nail advanced jumps immediately. Incorporating warm-ups and gradual skill-building greatly helps avoid injury and builds confidence. Watching figure skating competitions, including the Olympics, inspired me to set realistic goals for improvement. I’ve also learned a lot from coaching, especially about finding the right balance between technique and expression on ice.
