Hey everyone! I wanted to share a bit more about why I decided to transfer my artwork from TikTok and why I think it’s so crucial for all creators to think about digital art preservation. Lately, there's been a lot of talk and uncertainty surrounding various platforms. For artists like us, our creations are so much more than just posts – they're our passion, our hard work, and often, a piece of ourselves. The thought of losing access to my work, especially my beloved #TheDazzlings fan art featuring #AdagioDazzle, #AriaBlaze, and #SonataDusk, was genuinely unsettling. That's why proactively finding a new home for my art, like Lemon8, felt like a really smart move. When you've poured hours into creating something, whether it's a quick animation or a detailed illustration, you want to ensure it's safe. Relying solely on one platform, especially one that might be facing operational questions, can be risky. It can be a bit tedious, but it's worth it. For individual videos, TikTok usually allows you to download them directly to your device. Look for the 'Save video' option. Sometimes, though, the quality might not be ideal or the watermark is present. For higher quality, some creators opt for screen recording their own content, which is a workaround if direct downloads aren't suitable. The key is to get those files off the platform and onto your personal storage – be it a hard drive, cloud service, or another social media platform. Once downloaded, I make sure to organize them into folders, perhaps by character or by series, which makes them much easier to manage later.
