จากประสบการณ์ที่บ้าน เรารู้สึกว่า “การรักษา FIP” มันไม่ได้มีแค่ให้ยาแล้วจบ แต่คือการดูแลทั้งระบบให้แมวผ่านช่วงวิกฤตไปให้ได้ โดยเฉพาะบ้านที่น้อง “ไม่กินอาหาร/ซึม/หลบมุม” ขอแชร์สิ่งที่เราโฟกัสเพิ่ม (เผื่อช่วยให้แม่ๆตัดสินใจไวขึ้น และดูแลได้เป็นขั้นตอน) 1) ถ้าสงสัย FIP ควรรีบพาไปตรวจอะไรบ้าง เราแนะนำให้จดอาการไปบอกคุณหมอให้ละเอียด เช่น ไม่กินกี่ชั่วโมง น้ำหนักลดไหม หายใจเร็วไหม เหงือก/หูซีดหรือเปล่า เพราะอาการ FIP หลายอย่างคล้ายโรคอื่น คุณหมอมักพิจารณาร่วมกับตรวจเลือด (เช่นค่า A/G), อัลตราซาวด์ดูน้ำในท้อง/ช่องอก และคัดกรองโรคติดเชื้ออื่นๆ (ลูคีเมีย/เอดส์แมว ฯลฯ) จุดสำคัญคือไปให้เร็วตั้งแต่ยัง “เริ่มซึม” โอกาสประคองอาการจะง่ายกว่า 2) ระหว่างรักษา FIP: โภชนาการคือหัวใจ ช่วงที่น้องไม่กิน เราเน้น “ให้ได้แคลอรี” ก่อน เรื่องที่ช่วยมากคืออาหารสูตรพักฟื้นอย่าง Royal Canin Recovery เพราะพลังงานแน่นและป้อนง่าย ถ้าน้องไม่ยอมกินเองจริงๆ การป้อนด้วยไซริงก์ต้องค่อยๆทีละน้อย แต่บ่อยครั้ง เพื่อไม่ให้สำลัก (อย่าป้อนเร็วหรือป้อนท่านอนหงาย) บ้านเราใช้วิธีอุ่นอาหารให้หอมขึ้นเล็กน้อย และแบ่งมื้อถี่ๆ ทั้งวัน 3) เสริมตัวช่วยแบบไม่กดดันกระเพาะ ถ้าน้องกินได้น้อย เราเลือกเสริมแบบซุป/แมวเลียที่ย่อยง่าย เช่น Choo Choo ซุปปลาแซลม่อน และ VF Core (สีแดง) เพื่อช่วยประคองแรงและความอยากอาหาร แต่จะไม่ฝืนให้เยอะในมื้อเดียว เราให้เป็น “ตัวเสริมระหว่างมื้อ” และยังวางอาหารเม็ดที่คุ้นเคยไว้ตลอด เผื่อน้องเริ่มกลับมากินเอง 4) วิธีสังเกตว่าเริ่มดีขึ้นหรือควรรีบกลับไปหาหมอ สัญญาณที่เราดีใจมากคือ น้องเริ่มลุกมาเลียขนเอง เริ่มสนใจอาหาร กินได้เอง และหายใจนิ่งขึ้น แต่ถ้าเจออาการอย่างหอบ หายใจแรง ซึมลงอีก ไม่กินต่อเนื่อง อาเจียนบ่อย ถ่ายเหลวหนักๆ หรือเหงือกซีดลง เราจะไม่รอดูเอง รีบติดต่อโรงพยาบาลทันที เพราะช่วงรักษา FIP อาการขึ้นลงได้ 5) การป้องกัน/ลดความเสี่ยง FIP (เท่าที่บ้านเราทำได้) FIP เกี่ยวข้องกับไวรัสโคโรนาในแมวและภูมิคุ้มกันของแต่ละตัว เราเลยโฟกัสที่การลดความเครียดและสุขอนามัย: ทำกระบะทรายให้สะอาด แยกชามอาหาร/น้ำในบ้านที่มีหลายตัว ลดการเปลี่ยนแปลงฉับพลัน และพยายามให้น้องพักเงียบๆ ไม่โดนรบกวนเยอะ เพราะความเครียดทำให้อาการทรุดง่าย สุดท้ายอยากบอกว่า FIP ไม่ได้แปลว่า “หมดหวัง” เสมอไป ถ้าแม่ๆสังเกตอาการไว พาไปตรวจไว และดูแลเรื่องอาหารกับความเครียดให้ดี ระหว่างกินยาต้านไวรัสโอกาสกลับมาใช้ชีวิตปกติมีจริงค่ะ
