FIP mutations

This sweet girl is Osiris, and this is the very last photo we took of her before her passing this past Christmas Eve. Osiris, like 90% of all felines, had FIP which is essentially a Covid virus for their intestines. Most cats suffer no ailments from FIP itself, however like most viruses FIP can mutate at a 1% chance. When she was born she most likely had the mutated version of FIP, which is likely why she was abandoned by her mother, and my extra TLC she got over the year and a half of her life helped keep her alive much longer than is expected. This is all information I was given collectively by the vet whom saw her and her regular vet who reviewed the case, and it has helped to know statistically she was never supposed to make it this far. We do sincerely apologize about the long wait as we normally like to keep you informed within a week of something happening, however this message has gotten pushed back due to the Holidays, the TikTok Ban, and Grief.
