Youtubers Life 2

Youtubers Life 2 is a game where you play as a gaming youtuber who tries to be the best there is while trying to save the city they move to. As you can pretty much choose how you would like to proceed in this game, I will only be going over the basic story.

You start the game by beating the first game. (Yes, your character fully finishes the first game in the beginning of the sequel.) Once you see the ending screen of the first game again, you get a message for someone who you don't know asking if you want to move to NewTube City to start your own channel from the top. You agree (because if you don't you get booted back to the start screen and have to go through the whole first cutscene again), and you get a map of the city as well as a choice of where you want to live. No matter where you choose to live (I chose the apartment in downtown), you get a set up for free so you can record gaming videos as well as a computer to edit them. You explore the city and make friends with the others, which you will need to do in order to get through the main story. Basically, the algorithm of NewTube City keeps getting hacked and the hacking group is getting stronger by the day. They were using the first game, YouTubers Life, to try to find someone with the dedication to try to fix the algorithm and save the city filled with youtubers and content creators. You do so by befriending certain content creators and get certain codes from them as well as being the number 1 tuber in the city. When you get those done, you bring everything to the basement of a scientist (it makes sense, trust me) and go into a portal with all of the people you got the codes for. This portal takes you into... the end credits. You don't get to see what is on the other side of the portal. After the credits, you meet the scientist again who says that you can keep playing.

The gameplay is rather simple. At the beginning of each day, there is a list of trends that are popular for the day. With these trends, you can make videos, streams, or take Instagram photos to get more likes and subscribers. You have a limited amount of time each day, and you can upgrade your contentwith a skill tree to get even more likes and subscribers. You get skill points from uploading videos, including vods of your streams. While you are recording videos and streaming, there are 5 attributes that you can fill up. The more attributes that you fill up, the better the quality of the video, so you want to try to fill up as many as you can, with filling all 5 being the best you can do. After the recording or the stream, you head to the editing station or to your computer which does the same thing. Here, you have to put the clips together in a way that they all connect. There are also different edits that you can buy to get a 5 star edit to get more points. Once the editing is done, you upload the video and all of the points get added up. Points come from the recording, editing, trends, the level that you upgraded to, and how nice your house looks (for specific types of videos). All of these points get added up and you get a skill points based on the average star rating your video gets.

In my personal opinion, I only cared about 3 of the NPCs, so I can't say too much about them. They all have distinct personalities based on the different types of content that they post (including people are super full of themselves and think they are the best.) Each of the shopkeepers have a life outside of their work, which I really like because it gives characters more depths. An example is one of the chefs cheating in game tournaments because she wants to be a gamer and is worried she is past her prime for it. Again, I haven't spent a lot of time with all of the NPCs (I need to spend more time with the energy vampire FR), so I only know a few of the backstories, but the few that I hung out with I greatly enjoyed.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time with Youtubers Life 2. For me, it is a game that I play every now and again just to hang out and vibe. I like how you are able to beat the main story in one in game year, or you can take your time and really drink in every little detail of the game. I still play even now, even though it doesn't have a lot of replayability. I recently replayed it as I am getting excited for Youtubers Life 3, and that replay really helped me get excited even more.

Game rating: 8/10 Would recommend

... Read moreMy journey through NewTube City in Youtubers Life 2 has been incredibly fun, and while the main story is engaging, it's the quirky NPCs that truly bring the game to life. Many of you have been curious about specific characters, and I've noticed a lot of questions about Lucy in Youtubers Life 2. So, let me share my experience with this memorable character! Lucy is one of the early, yet crucial, animated characters you’ll encounter in NewTube City. She's known for her unique style and her passion for fashion and beauty content creation. Finding Lucy is usually quite straightforward, as she's often around the Fashion District or the central plaza areas. Early in the game, you'll likely bump into her naturally as you explore the city and complete initial quests that introduce you to various content creators. She sometimes hangs out near the clothing stores, so keep an eye out there if you're specifically looking for her. Interacting with Lucy is essential for a few reasons. Firstly, like many other NPCs, building a relationship with her can unlock unique quests and opportunities. These often involve helping her with her own content, like styling a video or giving feedback on an outfit. Completing these tasks not only boosts your friendship level with her but can also provide you with valuable items, skills, or even unlock new areas or challenges. For instance, I remember helping her with a fashion show video, which gave me some cool new clothing options for my own character! Beyond quests, Lucy offers a vibrant personality that adds to the game's charm. She's enthusiastic, a little dramatic, and always focused on the latest trends, which reflects her content niche perfectly. Befriending her can also give you insights into the fashion and beauty trends of NewTube City, which can be super useful when you're trying to decide what kind of videos or streams to make to hit those daily trends. I found that having a good relationship with style-focused characters like Lucy helped me predict what was going to be popular next. To maximize your relationship with Lucy, make sure to engage in daily conversations, respond positively to her messages, and always offer help with her creative endeavors. Like all relationships in the game, consistency is key! It’s not just about completing her specific storyline; it’s about showing up and supporting her. The more you interact, the higher your friendship level will become, eventually unlocking deeper dialogue and more significant rewards. She's one of those animated characters that really makes you feel like you're part of a thriving creator community. So, if you're diving into Youtubers Life 2, definitely make time to get to know Lucy – she’s a gem in NewTube City!
