๐ฑApartment Composting with Tupperware?! ๐๐ฅ๐
You donโt need a backyard, compost bin, or even fancy gadgets to start composting. Yes, Really!
When I lived in a rented space I STILL made it work right on my countertop with a basic Tupperware bin.
Yep, no excuses. ๐๐พ๐ช๐พ
Hereโs how I compost in my kitchen without the stink or the mess:
๐งบ What I Use:
A sealed Tupperware container for daily scraps (like in the pic!)
A small lidded wastebasket under the sink for backup
Baking soda & charcoal filters (cheap odor control = lifesaver)
Optional: freezer stash method if youโre sensitive to smells ๐ง
โ What You Can Compost Indoors:
Fruit & veggie scraps (banana peels, tomato skins, wilted greens)
Eggshells ๐ฅ (crushed = calcium boost!)
Coffee grounds & filters โ
Tea bags (check theyโre plastic-free)
Paper towels & shredded newspaper (small amounts)
๐ซ What You Shouldnโt Compost Indoors:
Meat, dairy, or oily foods (hello, stink + pests ๐)
Glossy paper or colored ink
Anything synthetic or coated
๐ Why I Started Composting:
To fertilize my garden and indoor plants naturally & organically.
Buying organic fertilizer gets expensive FAST ๐ฐ so I said let me make my own!
And guess what?
It works.
My plants THRIVE on this stuff!๐ชด๐ช๐พ
Whether youโre in a tiny apartment, renting, or just getting started โ you CAN compost.
No garden? No problem. Use it for potted herbs, windowsill plants, or gift it to someone who gardens.
โป๏ธ Composting is not just crunchy granola vibes โ itโs smart, sustainable, and saves coins.
