In my experience, understanding the link between emotions and physical health is vital for maintaining well-being. The Huangdi Neijing, an ancient Chinese medical text, highlights that poor emotional states like prolonged anger and depression can lead to internal imbalances such as 'heart cold' and 'liver qi stagnation,' which may weaken the spleen and disrupt overall bodily functions. Personally, I've noticed that when I feel stressed or emotionally burdened, I tend to experience more physical discomfort, such as digestive issues or fatigue. This aligns with the idea that our emotional state directly influences our body's qi and blood flow, and when these are disrupted, health problems arise. To support emotional and physical health, adopting practices such as mindfulness meditation, regular physical activity, and proper sleep routines has been beneficial. These help replenish the body's qi and blood, promoting smooth circulation that supports organ health. Additionally, dressing appropriately for the weather to avoid feeling physically chilled, as mentioned in traditional wisdom, combined with emotional care, can prevent both physical and emotional imbalances. This holistic approach to wellness—addressing body, mind, and emotions—resonates strongly with the teachings of Huangdi Neijing and has improved my overall health and resilience.
