✨must have pantry items ✨
Recently I’ve been on a spree with both establishing my garden as well as maintaining a pantry that allows me to bake without worrying about running to the store for something last minute.
This is just my own personal preference in terms of what I keep in my pantry by no means is this a strict list on what you or anyone else should have in theirs.
I learned a lot from growing up in financial hardship as well as tips and tricks from watching my grandmother maintain her kitchen at home.
Hopefully this helps those who may be on their own and looking to have a pretty decent pantry. Or maybe this will help remind someone that they may be out of an ingredient or item.

Building a well-stocked pantry is essential for any home cook, combining convenience with creativity. Essential items include a variety of oils, such as vegetable oil and olive oil, which can serve different purposes in cooking and baking. Flour varieties like bread flour and all-purpose flour are critical for baking breads and other baked goods. Canned goods are a lifesaver, providing versatile options for quick meals. Items like canned beans, tomatoes, and vegetables can add flavor and nutrition to soups and stews. Spices and seasonings, including black pepper, cinnamon, and chili powder, enhance the flavor of dishes and can make even the simplest meals exciting. Consider stocking herbal teas like chamomile and green tea, which promote wellness and relaxation. In addition to these staples, don’t forget about condiments and sauces, such as ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, which can add depth to your dishes. Broths, whether chicken or beef, are perfect bases for soups and sauces, enriching your recipes with flavor without extra effort. Being mindful of pantry essentials can help you create a balanced approach to cooking, avoiding the stress of last-minute grocery trips and enabling you to experiment more in the kitchen. It's not just about having food on hand; it's about having the right ingredients that inspire creativity and flexibility in your cooking endeavors.
