Online Diary #3 :Arcade Bar

On Labor Day I was able to hang out with my primos at an arcade bar in my local area.

I don’t get to see them very often, so we try to make visits during the holidays. They made their way down to me and we spent a lot of the day chismeando and catching up with travel plans for next year.

Rhythm games have me in a chokehold. That Wacca is coming for my soul and that beat DJ game fully makes my ADHD feel some calmness, lol. Chunthim as well. Pianso rythmmmmmm(huzzzaaahhhhhhh)

Can’t forget the DDR games. 😏 I will NEVAH pass to hard mode, but at least I can always make the beat faster. I just don’t have that rhythm speed in my legs for anything above Medium. 😭

Classes started officially for me today since my first in-person class is tonight. I am very excited because this means I can finally get more help with my art portfolio and resume! I can’t wait to transfer in the Spring! 🌸🌼

Rhythm games such as Wacca and Beat DJ are not only entertaining but can also provide therapeutic benefits, particularly for individuals managing ADHD. The immersive music and interactive beats help focus the mind and calm restlessness, creating a surprisingly soothing experience. Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) remains a staple for anyone who enjoys a physical challenge combined with rhythmic timing. While mastering hard mode can be tough, gradually increasing speed in the medium mode lets you build agility and coordination over time. This gradual improvement often brings a great sense of accomplishment and encourages continued play. Arcade bars also foster a community atmosphere where people share their love for retro and modern games alike. Sharing stories, competing in friendly matches, or simply enjoying the nostalgic vibe can strengthen bonds amongst friends and family. It’s a perfect activity for holiday gatherings when schedules finally align to spend quality time together. Moreover, combining leisure time with academic pursuits, such as attending in-person classes to enhance creative skills like art portfolios and resumés, shows a balanced approach to personal development. Setting goals to transfer schools and seeking support through classroom resources can amplify success in higher education. All in all, spending a holiday at an arcade bar isn’t just about games—it’s about creating memories, experiencing personal growth, and embracing the therapeutic power of rhythm and movement in a welcoming social space.
