Hey fellow Gilded Age fans! I'm still reeling from the latest Season 3 revelations, especially after digging into the Episode 7 trailer and that jaw-dropping Episode 6 breakdown. If you're like me, you're probably constantly refreshing HBO Max for any new crumbs of information. This season truly feels like it's taking things up a notch, and I wanted to share some of my personal theories and what I'm most excited (and nervous!) about, especially regarding what we've seen in the OCR. What's your take? First off, can we talk about the absolute bombshell that is Ward McCallister's book? The OCR mentioned "THE WARD MCCALLISTER BOOK" and how "IT CREATED NEW YORK SOCIETY BASED ON A REAL BOOK." The idea that "THE LITTLE SECRETS OF HIGH SOCIETY" are now out in the open, causing "SHOCKED" reactions from figures like Bertha Fish and Mrs. Fane, is just *chef's kiss*. I'm dying to see how Mrs. Astor and Bertha (who are clearly forming an alliance against Ward McCallister to "TRY TO BANISH HIM FROM SOCIETY") strategize and what their "NEWPORT BALL" discussion will entail. This is the kind of high-stakes social drama I live for, and it perfectly captures the essence of the Gilded Age era on HBO Max. Then there's the ongoing saga with Marion and Larry. The OCR hints that "MARION REVEALS THAT THERE'S NOTHING TO SHE HAS CLOSED THE SUBJECT" and "SHE SEES THE RING IT'S DONE FOR" when Larry comes back. My heart aches for them, but also... there's a glimmer of hope! "LARRY WILL GO RYAN HOUSEHOLD TO TALK HE WILL TRY TO AND HOPEFULLY CONVINCE MARION THAT NOTHING WRONG WENT". I'm personally rooting for Larry to convince Marion, especially with "GEORGE APPROVES AS WELL". It feels like a classic 'will they/won't they' that keeps us all glued to our screens, making every Sunday on HBO Max a must-watch event. And Oscar! Oh, Oscar. The OCR states "MARION IS THERE FOR OSCAR ONLY ONE WHO UNDERSTANDS THAT OSCAR HAD DEEP FEELINGS MUCH MORE THAN FRIENDSHIP". This really hits home, and the line "I GENUINELY FEAR FOR OSCAR'S FUTURE" has me on the edge of my seat. What challenges will he face, especially with his identity potentially being "REVEALED IN THE MCALLISTER BOOK"? The societal pressures of that time for someone in Oscar's position were immense, and I’m bracing myself for some truly powerful storytelling here given the depth of his feelings. Let's not forget the intriguing subplot with Peggy. The mention of "DOCTOR WILLIAM HAVING A PICNIC... ABOUT PEGGY'S PAST" immediately piqued my interest. What secrets is Peggy holding onto, and how will they come to light? This show always does an amazing job of weaving personal stories into the grand narrative of the era. Finally, the mystery of the "MOLE MUST BE ANDRE BERTHA'S MAID". I definitely noticed Andre "STAYED LITTLE TOO LONG TO EAVESDROP ON BERTHA'S CONVERSATION". If the Russell household "FINDS THE SOURCE LEAKS", it's going to be a massive shake-up! This kind of internal drama within the grand houses is what makes The Gilded Age so addictive and keeps me coming back to HBO Max for more. For anyone who hasn't jumped on The Gilded Age bandwagon yet, or if you're looking for more historical dramas to binge after catching up on Season 3, HBO Max is truly where it's at. They have an incredible selection of period pieces that transport you back in time, offering both escapism and fascinating insights into history. Don't miss out on the current season; it's proving to be the most dramatic yet! What are your theories for Episode 7 and beyond? Let me know!
