🧴6 Step Facial Routine For Dehydrated Skin 🫧🌷

Let's Set the mood and take care of our skin

Products you need

~ Hydrating facial products

~ cleansing tools

~ towels

~ steamer ( optional)

~ serums

~handband

STEP 1. Cleanse

remove any makeup or products you already have on your skin.

Cleanse with a moisturizing soap.

Manuka Honey Goat Soap doesn't strip your natural oils. You can use any light weight soap

STEP 2. Steam

Steaming is great to open your pores and help loosen dead skin.

Tip for the non steamer people ( me)

pour hot water in a large bowl , lay over the bowl ( do not put the hot water on your face) with a large towel over you for 1-3 minutes.

another option wet a face towel and microwave for a minute or two, let it cool down and place on your skin for the same amount time above.

STEP 3. Exfoliate

Exfoliating is great for smooth skin and it also help promote the natural oils in your skin.

You can use and exfoliate tool or facial products. Don't over do it 2x a month for at least a minute keep it gentle.

STEP 4. Mask

Follow the steps of any hydrating mask of your choice

STEP 5. Toners & Serums

Toners are great to add make moisture from the mask and cleansing. This step you want to incorporate some hydrating eye creams, serums and skin treatments.

STEP 6. Moisturize

This is an important step for glowing and hydrating skin . I recommend using a moisture that help restore your skin barrier.

... Read moreOkay, so let me tell you about a game-changer in my skincare routine, especially for those of us battling dehydrated skin: the facial steaming towel method! I used to think steaming was just for fancy spas, but then I discovered how easy and effective it is to do right at home. It’s become such a crucial step in my 6-step facial for making my skin feel soft and ready to soak up all the good stuff. For dehydrated skin, steaming is a godsend. It's not just about opening pores; it's about preparing your skin to absorb moisture like a sponge. When your skin is parched, it can be hard for serums and moisturizers to truly penetrate. A gentle steam helps to soften the top layer of your skin, allowing those hydrating ingredients to work their magic more effectively. Plus, it just feels incredibly relaxing, turning your routine into a mini-spa moment as part of your overall SKINCARE ROUTINE. If you're like me and don't have a dedicated facial steamer, no worries! The hot water and towel method is super simple. First, boil some water and carefully pour it into a large, heat-safe bowl. You can even add a few drops of calming essential oils like lavender if you want an extra boost of relaxation (just be careful not to overdo it, especially if you have sensitive skin). Drape a large towel over your head, creating a tent over the bowl. Make sure your face is a safe distance from the hot water – you want warmth, not scalding heat! Stay there for about 5-10 minutes, breathing deeply. It’s amazing how quickly you feel your pores opening up and your skin becoming more supple. Another fantastic option, especially when you're short on time, is the microwave hot towel method. Just wet a clean face towel with warm water, wring out the excess, and microwave it for about 30 seconds to a minute (depending on your microwave's power). Always check the temperature before placing it on your face to make sure it's comfortably warm, not hot. Lay the warm towel over your face for 2-3 minutes. This method is brilliant for a quick boost of hydration and for loosening up any dead skin cells, making exfoliation easier later on. I find it particularly effective just before using a purifying mask like the I DEW CARE GLOW PURIFYING MASK, as it helps the mask ingredients penetrate better. After steaming, your skin is primed. This is the absolute best time for your exfoliating step. Gentle exfoliation after steaming helps remove loosened dead skin without harsh scrubbing. Then, follow up immediately with your hydrating mask, toners, serums (like that vit c & tumeric retinol serum you might have!), and finally, a rich moisturizer, perhaps even a Shiseido moisturizer, to lock everything in. The warmth from the steam really helps these products sink in. I've noticed a significant improvement in how well my skin holds onto moisture throughout the day when I include this step. A few things to remember: don't steam for too long, especially if you have sensitive skin, as it can lead to redness. Also, ensure your water isn't too hot. You want a gentle, comforting warmth, not intense heat. And always, always cleanse your face thoroughly before steaming to avoid pushing dirt deeper into your pores. Using a gentle cleanser like Manuka Honey & Goats soap works wonders without stripping your skin. Incorporating the facial steaming towel method has truly elevated my at-home SKINCARE ROUTINE. It's an accessible, effective way to boost hydration and get that healthy glow. Give it a try, and I bet you'll love the feeling of deeply cleansed and moisturized skin!
