... Read moreIf you're looking to elevate your classic meatloaf game, adding Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce as a glaze is a fantastic way to introduce a smoky and spicy kick that pairs beautifully with ground turkey. I personally love using ground turkey because it's leaner than beef but still maintains great texture, especially when mixed with flavorful stuffing mix which adds moisture and seasoning. One helpful tip I’ve found is to start baking the meatloaf in a cold oven then apply the BBQ sauce glaze on top before the oven heats up. This method allows the sauce to caramelize gently as the temperature rises, giving the meatloaf a deliciously sticky crust. Around 10 minutes before the meatloaf finishes baking, adding a little warm water to the pan juices and stirring it in creates a natural gravy that enhances every bite. Don't be afraid to customize the recipe further by adding diced onions or bell peppers to the meat mixture for extra flavor and texture. Black pepper works well for seasoning but feel free to experiment with garlic powder or smoked paprika for a deeper flavor profile. When baking, ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F for a safe and juicy result. Letting the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing helps retain its juices, making each slice moist and tender. Pair this BBQ meatloaf with simple sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp salad for a well-rounded meal. Using a boxed stuffing mix might sound unconventional, but it infuses the meatloaf with herbs and seasoning effortlessly, making this recipe quick and convenient without sacrificing taste. The combination of the smoky Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and the flavorful stuffing mix makes this meatloaf a crowd-pleaser, especially if you enjoy dishes with a mild spicy twist. Overall, this meatloaf recipe is a great example of how simple ingredients and a few cooking techniques can reinvent a classic comfort food into something exciting and delicious for everyday dinners.

for the glaze you don't need a third of a cup bbq if your not making gravy out of it. you just need enough to glaze the top.
