I know that some say that vanilla and gourmand scents are not for the summer and should be kept in my fall and winter closet but your girl has always been a fan of all things vanilla so this is my go to combo for a sweet summer 🍦
I start with a local perfume brand, Blake & Co, located out of Dayton, OH and can be found online! This travel sized Vanilla perfume is to dieeee for ✨
Next, I use another local perfume brand from Dayton, Unique Aromas, which does dupes of fancy perfumes, today I’m using a “Whispers in the Library” dupe! So good ✨
Then, I use Vaseline’s “Sunlit Glow” to give myself a little sparkle and a soft vanilla scent ✨
Next, I use “Vanilla Bourbon” hair and body mist from Mix Bar, a really long lasting scent for my hair ✨
Finally, I finish with “Sticky Dates Dusting Powder” from Lush because it leaves my skin soft and smelling like a dream ✨
... Read moreI've always been a huge fan of vanilla scents, even when most people say they’re better suited for the cooler months. Incorporating vanilla into summer fragrance wear is all about selecting the right combinations that feel light and fresh without losing the warmth and sweetness that vanilla offers.
One discovery that truly surprised me is how layering different vanilla-inspired products can create a beautifully complex and long-lasting scent. Starting with a pure vanilla perfume, like the travel-sized Blake & Co Vanilla Perfume Oil, gives a solid and enchanting vanilla base. From there, adding a scent like Unique Aromas' 'Whispers in the Library' dupe adds an interesting twist with subtle woody and creamy notes that blend perfectly with the vanilla.
To keep everything fresh and radiant, using Vaseline’s Sunlit Glow shimmering oil was a game-changer for me. It not only hydrates my skin with ultra-hydrating lipids and pure cocoa butter but also leaves a gentle glisten that enhances the summer glow while providing a soft vanilla cocoa scent.
For hair, I love using Mix Bar’s Vanilla Bourbon hair and body mist. It’s incredibly long-lasting and perfect for adding a sweet, warm vanilla touch that doesn’t get overpowering in the heat.
Finally, finishing with Lush’s Sticky Dates Dusting Powder seals the deal. This powder leaves skin feeling silky smooth while radiating that rich gourmand warmth of vanilla and carob resin.
This layered approach shows how vanilla can be adapted beautifully for summer, balancing sweetness with freshness and sparkle. For anyone who loves gourmand or vanilla fragrances but hesitates during warm months, I’d highly recommend experimenting with lightweight oils, shimmering body mists, and powders. It’s a subtle yet indulgent way to carry vanilla’s magic through the summer season with a glowing vibe that feels personal and irresistible.
