Every night, I find that taking a moment to recite a gentle prayer profoundly changes how I sleep. This goodnight prayer, which I often say, helps me release the day’s burdens and welcome peace and calm into my heart and mind. By placing the day into God’s hands, as the prayer says, I am reminded that I don’t have to carry today’s worries into the rest of my life or into tomorrow. This has brought me immense relief during stressful times. The mention of angels guarding us overnight reinforces a feeling of safety and protection, which is comforting especially when the night feels long or uncertain. In my experience, combining this prayer with a moment of gratitude makes it even more powerful. Reflecting on what I’m thankful for each day clears away negativity and shifts my mindset towards hope. It’s a practice I recommend anyone to try when seeking a restorative night’s sleep. Using this prayer as part of a nightly routine also signals my body and mind that it’s time to rest. Over time, this simple ritual has improved my sleep quality and mental clarity upon waking.
