When people ask me out at night these days

... Read moreLately, I've found myself turning down invitations to go out at night more frequently, and it's not just about being tired in the moment. There are several honest reasons behind this decision that many can relate to. For me, the issue often ties back to feeling physically worn out and needing proper rest to function well the next day. I’m often asked, “Are you coming out tonight?” and my usual response has become a firm but friendly, “No, I’m tired.” While it might sound simple, this response covers a lot of ground — it acknowledges my body’s need for sleep, the aches that sometimes come with getting older, and health considerations like asthma, which can flare up if I overexert myself. The experience of feeling “old” or physically hurt is common, especially as we juggle busy schedules, work stress, and personal responsibilities. Many people underestimate how much our bodies require rest and recovery, and how saying “no” to social activities can be a form of self-respect and self-care. I also want to highlight how important it is to listen to your body’s signals. For example, if you are asthmatic or have other chronic health conditions, pushing yourself past your limits at night can lead to worsening symptoms. Choosing to stay in and prioritize sleep isn’t just about avoiding the fatigue of tomorrow but also about protecting your overall well-being. If you find yourself always declining night outings and feeling guilty, remember that rest is essential for maintaining mental and physical health. It’s okay to say “leave me alone” sometimes—not to be rude, but as a commitment to valuing your health and long-term happiness. In the end, balance is key. Social connections are important, but so is honoring your need for rest, especially when your body tells you it’s time to slow down. If you’re like me and prefer quiet nights to going out, that’s perfectly okay and something you should embrace without pressure or judgment.

Questions to ask when choosing an IFC ✨👶🏻

The Busan hotel I didn’t want to check out of 🇰🇷
My mum hadn’t travelled in a while. So when we finally planned this trip — 8 winter days in Busan, just the two of us — I wanted to get the accommodation right. I debated the price for longer than I’d like to admit. But the moment we walked in, I stopped debating. And by the end of the stay, I knew
