And if you're into shopping, the bustling artisan markets, like Mercado de Artesanías, offer everything from beautiful Talavera pottery to intricately woven textiles and silver jewelry – I definitely picked up some unique souvenirs and gifts! Don't be afraid to haggle a little! When it comes to dining, prepare for a treat! The city boasts an incredible culinary scene, from savory street food stalls offering tacos al pastor to upscale restaurants with gourmet Mexican cuisine. I particularly enjoyed the vibrant rooftop bars, which offer spectacular panoramic views of the city, especially at sunset. Sipping a margarita while watching the sky change colors over the Parroquia was a truly magical experience that I'll cherish. For a bit more adventure, I heard hot air balloon rides over the city and surrounding countryside are incredible, offering a unique perspective of this UNESCO World Heritage site, though I didn't get to try that this time. I found getting around on foot was the best way to explore the historic center, allowing you to stumble upon hidden gems. Wear comfortable shoes, as those cobblestones can be tricky! The weather was lovely when I visited in the spring, but I'd recommend checking the season as it can get quite hot in the summer or a bit chilly in winter evenings. Most people speak at least some English in tourist areas, but knowing a few Spanish phrases always helps.
