Herbal Hair Growth Oil ✨💆🏾♀️
How To Make It:
Step 1: Combine the Oils and Herbs
• Add 1/2 cup of olive oil to the glass bowl.
• Add 2 tablespoons of castor oil to the olive oil in the bowl.
- Add the dried herbs (rosemary, horsetail, and Chebe) into the oil mix. You can tie them in a piece of cheesecloth or use a fine mesh tea strainer to keep things neat while infusing. Place a heatproof glass bowl on top of the saucepan. The bowl should sit comfortably without touching the water.
Step 2: Prepare the Double Boiler
• Fill a saucepan with 1-2 inches of water. You want enough water to create steam, but it shouldn’t touch the glass bowl.
• Place a heatproof glass bowl on top of the saucepan. The bowl should sit comfortably without touching the water.
Step 3: Infuse the Oil
• As the water in the saucepan heats up, the steam will gently warm the oils and and herbs in the glass bowl, allowing the beneficial properties of the herbs to infuse into the oils.
• Important: Keep the heat low. You don’t want the oil to get too hot, just enough to infuse the herbs. Keep an eye on the water level in the saucepan, adding more water if it evaporates.
Step 4: Strain the Herbs
• Once the infusion is complete (1-2 hours), remove the glass bowl carefully from the saucepan.
• Strain the herbs out using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Discard the herbs, and keep the infused oil in the bowl.
Step 5: Add Essential Oil
• Add 30 drops of rosemary essential oil to the infused oil. Rosemary essential oil enhances circulation to the scalp and adds extra nourishment.
• Stir well to incorporate the essential oil.
Step 6: Store the Oil
• Transfer the oil into a clean, dry glass bottle or jar. (I used what I had lol)
• Store it in a cool, dark place. It should last for up to 6 months.
How to Use:
1. Scalp Massage: Apply the oil to your scalp and hair. Gently massage for a few minutes to stimulate circulation and ensure even coverage.
2. Leave In: For a deeper treatment, leave the oil in for 30 minutes to overnight. Cover your hair with a shower cap or towel to prevent drips. Can also mix with deep conditioner and rinse
Wash out with a gentle shampoo, and follow with conditioner if needed.

Okay, so you've seen my go-to recipe for this amazing herbal hair growth oil, and trust me, it’s been a game-changer for my hair journey! But I wanted to dive a little deeper into why these ingredients are so powerful and share some extra tips I've picked up along the way. First, let's talk about the stars: Castor Oil and Rosemary. I know many of you are searching for the best way to mix castor oil with rosemary oil for hair growth, and it's for good reason! Castor oil, especially high-quality, cold-pressed varieties (always look for pure options, it makes a difference!), is rich in ricinoleic acid. This fatty acid is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and can really boost circulation to the scalp. When my scalp feels healthy, my hair just thrives. I’ve noticed a huge difference in thickness and even a bit less shedding since I started using it consistently. Then there's rosemary – both the herb and the Rosemary Essential Oil. The fresh herb adds such a lovely scent and its own stimulating properties during the infusion. But the essential oil? That's where the magic really happens for me. It’s been scientifically shown to be as effective as some synthetic hair growth treatments, but without the harsh chemicals. I always add it after the infusion to keep its potency. It truly invigorates my scalp and I feel like it wakes up dormant follicles! And don't forget the supporting cast in this DIY Hair Growth Oil! Horsetail is packed with silica, which is essential for strong hair strands. I’ve found it really helps with breakage. Chebe powder (if you can get your hands on it!) is a secret weapon from Chad, known for strengthening hair and helping it retain length. I love how it makes my hair feel more robust. And Olive Oil isn't just a carrier; it's deeply moisturizing and protective, making sure my hair stays soft and shiny. I’ve also experimented a bit, and sometimes I’ll toss in a few Cloves during the infusion process. They add another layer of stimulating properties and a wonderful aroma. It’s all about finding what works best for your hair! Now, for usage tips beyond just applying it: Consistency is Key: I try to use this DIY oil 2-3 times a week as a pre-poo treatment. It makes a huge difference compared to sporadic use. Scalp Massage Technique: Don't just slather it on! Spend 5-10 minutes really massaging your scalp with your fingertips. This isn't just relaxing; it increases blood flow to the follicles, maximizing the oil's benefits. Overnight Treatment: For an extra boost, I sometimes leave it in overnight. I just braid my hair loosely, cover my pillow with an old towel or wear a satin bonnet. Just remember to wash it out thoroughly in the morning! Patch Test: Especially with essential oils, always do a small patch test first to make sure you don't have any sensitivities. My skin can be a bit fussy, so I never skip this step. Making my own Herbal Hair Growth Oil has truly empowered me on my natural hair journey. It’s rewarding to know exactly what’s going into my hair and to see such amazing results. Give it a try, experiment, and enjoy your journey to healthier, longer hair!
