This weekend’s training really filled my cup. 🤍
From run club to spending time with friends, it reminded me that running is about so much more than the miles.
One of my biggest pieces of advice when it comes to training: lean into your community. They’ll carry you through the hard days and make the good days even better. Love you guys! @itsteresatime @Mindfully Kimberly ✨ #runtok #runningcommunity #runnergirl #marathontraining
Training season, or "training szn" as many runners call it, is not just about logging miles but also about building meaningful connections within your running community. Personally, I've found that participating in run clubs and group runs transforms the entire experience. These gatherings create a supportive environment where encouragement flows naturally, making even the toughest workouts feel manageable. When I first started marathon training, I often struggled with motivation on hard days. However, as I grew more involved with my local running community, I realized the immense value in sharing both challenges and victories with others. Conversations post-run, mutual advice, and simply knowing someone else is on the journey with you can make a huge difference. Moreover, spending time with friends from the running community outside of training sessions contributes to stronger bonds, which in turn enhance accountability and joy in running. It’s these relationships that fill your cup – emotionally and physically – leading to a more balanced and fulfilling training cycle. So if you’re gearing up for marathon training, my advice is simple: lean into your community. Join a run club, attend local races, or connect online with fellow runners. The energy, motivation, and support you’ll gain are invaluable and can help keep you grounded, inspired, and loving the process more than ever.
