Bottom left: The Flaming Star Nebula is a reflection and emission nebula about 1,500 light years away.
Top center: The Tadpole Nebula is an emission nebula about 12,000 light years away and measures about 100 light years across. It envelopes a star forming region.
Right: The Spider and the Fly Nebula (partial). Another star forming region that’s about 10,000 light years away from us and is exactly opposite of the Milky Way’s core. The fly part is outside of the frame.

But with a decent pair of binoculars or a small telescope, you can often spot the glow of larger nebulae from a dark-sky location. For astrophotography, it's a step up, but incredibly rewarding. The vivid blue hues are often a sign of ionized oxygen, while the orange tones in the Flaming Star and Spider Nebulae can indicate hydrogen alpha emissions.
